ABOUT HIP POLITICS:

WHAT IS HIP POLITICS?

Raised by Hip Hop, we are political strategists who have been shaped by the culture, people, and politics of an era. Our successes and victories have helped reshape the political landscape. We seek to build digital and IRL platforms, campaigns, and activations to educate and engage the generations that will shape the world as it changes. Our content mission is to demystify the political and media “game” so that the “Hip Hop generation” can make informed decisions that strengthen their ability to protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We accomplish this mission through building media, cultural, and political partnerships that help us identify, understand, and fill gaps in information for our audience. We have come to realize as the famous Matrix movie quote so eloquently stated, “There is no spoon.”  We “the people” have the ability to determine the conditions and terms by which we live, work, and love.

OUR MISSION:

Our mission is reflective of the “Hip Hop generation” we were born into. An era where our experiences with and views on justice, community, government, and what it means to “be” an American were shaped by a kick-drum, snare, and 808s. We found community in the melodies, messages, and messengers across race, class, geographical barriers because what they preached was the “empowerment of people.” This is what excites us as a firm about a project, client, or campaign – the idea that it will have an impactful outcome in service of people. And, we believe the current political moment and inability of its players to bring our nation together under a collective narrative has created a strong opening for the Hip-Politics approach.

Hip Politics is not just the name of our platform, it is the way by which we center “The Culture” in our strategic approach to communications, media, news, and content distribution. We focus on “why” infotainment content, news, and chatter matters to our audience and utilize our network, data, and insider access to bring them closer to solutions and understanding backed with expert confidence. We consider ourselves principally as an ed-tech platform reaching audiences, creating content, and building engagements with marginal to mainstream audiences around the issues that affect their lives. We advise clients through our consultancy as an extension of our goal to educate individuals and organizations on how to “authentically” build relationships through constructing culturally relevant pathways of communication with diverse audiences and margins within.
